Best Motherboards, RAM, and Hard Drives for Trading Computers

What’s up everybody? It’s Eddie Z here from EZ Trading Computers, and you’re watching Trading Computer Secrets.

Today, I want to talk about other important components of trading computers and which brands are the best. You know if your trading computer has “Intel inside,” but do you know who made your motherboard, RAM, and hard drive? Are they the reason your trading data is slow?

MOTHERBOARD

Let’s begin with something called the motherboard.

Reliability and quality are everything to good trading computers, and that starts at the motherboard. This means getting the absolute best brand names, which are ASUS and MSI.

One of my favorite motherboards for trading computers is the ASUS TUF Series of boards. The TUF Series uses heavy-duty materials and has met independent certification as military grade. This means these boards have been tested under extreme conditions, such as heat and vibration. And it’s heat that absolutely destroys electronics over time.

The TUF series is unmatched in reliability and even comes with a 5-year warranty. The latest version of this motherboard comes with extra-large heat sinks and a dedicated chipset fan to provide optimal cooling.

A quick word of warning here: many trading computer builders, and even most manufacturers like Dell and HP, won’t tell you what brand of motherboard they’re putting into their systems.

Why? Because they don’t want you to know that they’re using no-name, low-quality boards they can buy in bulk to save money.

RAM

Now let’s talk about memory chips for trading computers. When it comes to memory chips, that are known as RAM, you’ve got to think of RAM like a light bulb. The chip either works or it burns out in a split second.

And in that case, you want to go with a quality name brand RAM for a fast trading computer. The best names in RAM are G.SKILL, Corsair, Crucial, and Team. A really good brand of RAM will come with a lifetime warranty.

HARD DRIVE

Okay, let’s move on to storage devices, also known as hard drives. And to get right to the point, the fastest hard drives are something called solid-state hard drives, or SSDs.

These new drives are anywhere from 10 to 30 times faster than the old-school hard drives, the spinning hard drives of yesteryear. Additionally, they have no moving parts like the old-school hard drives do, which makes them way more reliable.

Now, without getting super technical, it’s important to know that currently the very fastest and most economical hard drives are known as the NVME M.2 solid-state hard drives. So make sure you have the best hard drive for trading computers.

I would also recommend that you go with a minimum SSD size of at least 250 GB. The very best brand names to consider are Samsung, HP, and Crucial. And of course, you definitely want to stay away from no-name-brand SSDs.
